Sunday 5th May - Skills Day
Join us for a fun-filled day of learning and friendly racing at our Skills Day! It's the perfect opportunity for beginners to dip their toes into the exhilarating world of sailboat racing.
During the day, you'll discover the basics of racing, including how to start a race and what those colourful flags actually mean. We'll also cover sailing and racing terminology in a way that's easy to understand, so you'll feel confident and ready to hit the water.
Once you've got the hang of things, it's time to set sail! With the support of our safety boat crew, you'll have the chance to practice in a relaxed and supportive environment.
Plus, it's a fantastic opportunity to meet other beginners and experienced sailors alike.
Come join us for a day of fun and learning.
Schedule:
10:30 AM - 11:00 AM: Arrival and quick classroom session
- Sailing signals and terminology
- Understanding flag signals
- How to start a race
11 AM - Start rigging boats
11.30 AM - 2 PM On-Water-Session
2:30 PM onwards: BBQ Lunch, Debrief, and Social Time
- Enjoy a complimentary BBQ for all participants
- Debriefing and question time
- Members bar open from 2.30pm
Sunday 12th May Casual sailing, but a great chance to practice those new skills you've picked up.
Sunday 19th May – Winter Racing Series – arrive 10.30am for a 12 noon race start-time. (Need to be on the water by 11.30am)
Fortnightly Schedule:
10:30 - Arrive at the club to organise and rig boats
11:30 - Need to be on the water
12:00 - Racing starts (1.5-2 hours)
14:00 - Racing finished
14:30: BBQ - build your own burger
15:00 - Prizegiving - Lasers - 1st, 2nd, 3rd
- Quests - 1st, 2nd, 3rd
- New to racing

The winter racing series kick off! Races will be every fortnight on:
- 19th May
- 2nd, 16th, 30th June
- 14th, 28th July
- 11th, 25th August
- 8th, 22nd, 29th September
Assume racing in on unless cancelled via the Sailing WhatsApp Chat group. if we cancel on one of the above dates we will race the following weekend then return to the schedule dates.
All sail boats will be pre booked by club for Club Racing Days.
