This 5-week course will introduce participants to dinghy sailing, teaching you the knowledge and skills you need to go dinghy sailing safely and enjoyably. Centered around having fun and developing a love for sailing as well as building water confidence, this practical course is a great start to your sailing journey.

• Boats (RS Quest) and personal flotation devices (PFDs) are provided
• YNZ qualified coaches
• YNZ Level 1 certified course, participants awarded Level 1 certifications upon completion of the course
• Takapuna Boating Club non-member participants receive a short-term social membership to the club for the duration of the course

Upcoming Dates for 2024:

Saturday 24th Feb, 2nd, 9th, 16th & 23rd March, either from 9am-12pm

Where: Takapuna Beach in front of Takapuna Boating Club. 

When: This is a 5-week course with one 3-hour session per week, with a choice of either 9am-12pm, or 12.30pm-3.30pm.

Who: Suitable for anyone age 15 years and over. No previous sailing experience is required. You must be able to swim 50m wearing a lifejacket.

Cost: $300 for Takapuna Boating Club active members, $400 for non-members.
