SAILING.

LEARN TO SAIL.

This course will introduce participants to dinghy sailing, teaching you all the knowledge and skills needed to set sail safely. Centred around having fun, developing a love for sailing and building water confidence, this course is a great start to your sailing journey.

  • Boats (RS Quest) and Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs) are provided throughout the course.

  • YNZ qualified coaches.

  • YNZ Level 1 certified course, participants awarded Level 1 certifications upon completion of the course.

  • Non-member participants will receive a short-term social membership for the duration of the course.

TEST THE WATERS.

  • Where: On Takapuna Beach, directly in front of the Takapuna Boating Club.

  • Who: Suitable for anyone aged 16 years and over. No previous sailing experience is required. You must be able to swim 50m wearing a lifejacket.

  • Cost: $300 for Takapuna Boating Club Active Members, $400 for Non-Members.

  • 2025 Course Dates:

  • 5 Day Course - Monday - Friday 6th-10th January 12.30pm-3.30pm

  • 4 week course Saturday 18th January, 1st, 8th & 22nd February 2025 - 9am-12.30pm (no sessions on 25th January or 15th February).

  • 5 week course Saturday 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th March - 9am-12pm
