Takapuna Boating Club reopening at Level 2
With the drop down to alert level 2 from midnight Sunday 30th August, Takapuna Boating Club is able to operate under our L2 protocols from Monday next week.
What does this mean for Takapuna Boating Club?
Our Members Bar will be open again from Friday 4th September.
There are strict regulations we need to follow in regards to being able to safely serve you. These are outlined below, and we appreciate you reading them prior to coming to the club so you know what to expect.
The Members Bar will is still operating our winter hours schedule:
- Tuesday from 4.30pm
- Friday* from 4.30pm
- Sunday 2pm - 6pm- Sunday 6th is Father's day, so bring down your dad and/or your kids. There will be a free beer for Dads (with their kids).
*Please note the Friday night Jackpot draw will not take place under Level 2.
The storage basement and changing rooms will be accessible again from Monday 31st August. Members are able to return their boats back into their racks and utilise the facilities again. However, it is requirement that you must sign in either by scanning the QR code on your NZ Covid Tracer App, or filling out the paper form ( there are each of these in the basement by the door, and in the male and female changing rooms).
As you will be aware there are several health and safety protocols and regulations we must follow to ensure we can be open safely under Government guidelines.
Everyone must sign in upon entering any area of the premises.
Please do so by either:
- Scanning the QR code using your NZ Covid Tracer App (click to download on your smart phone); or
- filling out the paper contact tracing form
There will be several of these around the club. Please ask the staff if you are unsure.
Please do not come to the club if you have any of the symptoms of Covid 19 (even if you are certain it is just a cold!) We will still be here when you are feeling better.
There will be restrictions on the number of people allowed into the club at one time. This is due to the gathering limits but also the social distancing requirements. Tables of no more than 10 people must be placed at least one metre apart. Both the main lounge and upstairs lounge will be set up with tables and chairs accordingly for our members bar. If there are no seats available, it means we are at our maximum allowable capacity.
With our members bar, we will be abiding by the three S’s- Seated, Separated, Service
- On arrival (after signing in) please go straight to a table and sit down. Staff will come and serve you.
- Do not go to the bar to order drinks/food or to pay. This will happen at your seat.
- Please do not move the seats around.
- Please do not stand around chatting.
There will be plenty of staff around on Friday to assist as we get back used to Level 2 protocols. Please follow instructions to ensure we are meeting our legal obligations.
We appreciate your cooperation, support and patience as we all navigate level 2 and we look forward to seeing you all around the club as soon as possible.
